1 In pairs, describe the photos. What is the girl doing in the second photo? How does she feel in both photos?
In the photo on the right a girl is driving a car. Perhaps she’s taking a driving lesson or taking her driving test. The girl feels anxious/nervous/worried/stressed. In the photo on the left the girl is with a group of friends and looks much happier, perhaps she passed her driving test.
2 Listen to Part 1 of the story and decide if statements 1–6 are true or false.

3 Study the Speaking box. Then listen to Part 1 of the story again and complete the sentences.

5 Research the probability of a type of weather happening in your local area over the next week. Make a short presentation to the class.
Activity Guide:
This is a research and speaking task. Students should:
- Check a reliable weather forecast for their area.
- Identify one type of weather (e.g., rain, sunshine, wind) and its likelihood (e.g., It will definitely rain on Tuesday, It might be sunny on Friday).
- Prepare 3-4 sentences for a short class presentation using future forms and probability language from the Speaking box.

💡 Vocabulary Note (Exercise 1)
Anxious / Nervous / Worried / Stressed are synonyms often used to describe negative feelings before an important event like a test. Look forward to means to feel happy and excited about something that is going to happen.

When discussing probability, use the scale: will definitely → will probably → may/might → probably won’t → definitely won’t. This helps express your opinion clearly. Phrases like "I don't think she'll..." or "I agree/disagree" are useful for group discussions.
